3P Logo Design

Kind of a quick work here... a logo for a brand -- possibly -- of foodservice and medical gloves. For some reason, and I am not quite sure why, the client decided not to pursue manufacturing gloves. I did come up with some concepts for the packaging which you can see on this blog.

This is an alternate design for the MK Direct logo design I created for a Milwaukee area printer.

GENROI Labs Branding

GENROI Labs was the mythical name of  a series of products aimed at increasing a company's return on investment. It was part of a direct mail campaign. I'll post better artwork of the sub-brands again.

10 Year Anniversary Logo

Designed this a few years ago and just found this artwork in my files. I designed it to commemorate the anniversary of a local mental health hospital residential treatment unit.

Vintage Logo Update

Vintage is a private label brand that we co-market with other companies throughout the USA. I am not sure who developed the original logo or when, but I thought the design as it was, was rather lackluster and could use an update.

I basically took the concept that was there and made it work a little harder so it would have more of a visual impact and identity and got rid of the damn system font that I think was Arial. Who the hell uses Arial for a logo design?

Performance Plus Logo Design

I was given the assignment to design a mark for a line of value-based janitorial and sanitation products called Performance Plus. This was a hot project so I had a day to whip up something. Below shows  four solid directions I presented to the client.

The top example was what the client liked best  and will now initially be applied to a one color flex-label that I designed and will post later.

I rebranded this development (was Bayview Commons) to above to a more urbane, slick, design.

Nakamichi Logo Ideation

From The Design Tracts

Above is the logo ideation for Nakamichi Racers. I played off the "N" in Nakamichi. The final logo is featured large, while some other possibilities are shown for client consideration.

The individual letters are hand drawn. I did not use a font to make this logo.

Mountain Star Ranch Client Options

From The Design Tracts

This was some work I did back when I was an art director for DMC Advertising. These options were presented to the client and the client picked the top-most logo.

Mountain Star Ranch is a big retreat for corporate types. I had left DMC before the logo was completed so I don't know the eventual fate.

Bunjie Hucksters Logo

From The Design Tracts

I designed this logo for the Bunjie Huckster's line.

It was the first version of the logo. The packaging features a redesign of the logo.

One of my fave logos and product lines.

Tamarack Gardens Final Artwork

The client picked, massaged, and approved design. Not very fancy, but satisfied the clients tastes.

You can see my sketches.

Tamarack Gardens Client Options

From The Design Tracts

I presented these three options to the client. We decided on option 1 as the direction.

Tamarack Gardens Sketch Pad

From The Design Tracts

The sketch pad of the Tamarack Gardens logo. The solution didn't require my normal amount of work and the time I had budgeted for this design was very limited, yet the client, as well as me, is pleased with the results.

Again, the sketching out a logo, or any design, I take much pride and joy in.

Chill Logo Pre-Client Options

From The Design Tracts

I did this logo design for a new (at the time) bar on Pewaukee's lakefront, while freelancing for a downtown design firm.

This board was presented to the design firm for their review before presenting to the client.

What they eventually picked had me shaking my head -- but it paid.

From The Design Tracts

Work I did for DMC with creative director. Clay Altmann. We had the idea over some drinks to invent mythical products that helped a firms marketing. They were to be magical devices.

These were the line of logos I designed for it. Lots of fun!

Discovery World Summerpalooza Wordmark

From The Design Tracts

Between DMC and RMH I landed a contract gig at Discovery World's marketing department right on the lake. Discovery World hired a number of freelancers and I have to say, it was nice beating out another former art director for the 2008 Summerpalooza identity and poster. After the guy they hired failed to deliver, I was given the task on top of my other duties.

What can I say? I like competition.

The top logo is the brand mark that I developed. Below shows the other directions we could have gone. I do like the final result.

MK Logo Picks

MK Logo Picks by matthewpickard

Client presentation. Many yet to choose from. You probably never want to give your client this variety, but I did on this occasion. ( I was showing off. ) Funny thing, the top logo was the first type treatment I thought of and even though form follows client (or paycheck follows client) -- it's still my most least favorite solution.
